AYAHUASCA CEREMONY

$2,080.00

Embroidered with the colors of Ayahuasca and Chacruna leaves (central part). The design is protected by Xao Kewe (thick black lines) and Maya Kewe (thin curved lines), with kewe meaning embroidery. These represent the ícaros, the Shipibo healing chants sung by shamans during Ayahuasca ceremonies. The frame features anaconda designs.

The fabric was first painted using natural pigments from tree bark (Yacushapana, guava, almond, and mahogany), giving it a brown hue. Virgin clay from the Yarinacocha lagoon was then applied to darken certain details, such as the Xao Kewe design (squares in the corners). Finally, each detail was hand-embroidered.

(Dimensions: 158 x 143 cm)
