TAPIZ COLONIAL REPLICA

$4,270.00

Traditional Artistic Heritage Tapestry.

Colonial replica representing different Andean animals and flowers. Made on a back strap loom using alpaca fibers dyed using plants, insects and minerals such as: cochineal, chillca, qolli, indigo, chapi, and kinsa k'ucho.

A true product of syncretism, tapestries are a perfect blend of the cross-cultural elements of the 16th– and 17th-century era of global trade with Inca techniques and design motifs. Thanks to decades of research, Timoteo could recover the lost art of tapestry that was used for the garments of the noble Incas. Today his work is at the same level as modern art.

Materials: 100% Alpaca in backstrap loom.

Size 131 x 100 cm
