País Textil is a small and diverse group – in terms of age, language and origin – united by one passion: weaving. Inspired by the intense and ancient textile tradition of Perú. País Textil aims to preserve the traditions that are still alive in the hands of thousands of men and women.
Each member of País Textil has a fundamental role in the process of creating every piece.
TE AMO HANDBAG CAJAMARCA
Hand bag woven on a traditional, pre-Hispanic backstrap loom, with mercerized Pima cotton.Internal leather pocket. This handbag is inspired by the small bags or panniers that women carry to market in the Cajamarca Region. The bags have woven flowers and phrases of love.
País Textil was founded in 2016 by Marta and Sandra Castañeda with the aim to help commercialize—nationally and internationally—pieces woven by artisans that had participated in social projects with Marta in 2011.

Clutch purse hand woven on a traditional, pre-Hispanic backstrap loom, with mercerized Pima cotton. Interior lining leather and invisible magnets for closure. Includes a 39.4 inch/1 mt. long hand-twisted strip.
The artisans who make each of the pieces that they design and commercialize, are the main axis of País Textil. “We exist to help artisans sell their craft and their knowledge remain as a legacy for their children.”
